Hello and welcome!
I’m Mei, the craft enthusiast and writer behind Craft with Mei. I have a strong creative streak and enjoy sharing ideas and encouraging others to craft. Crafting is so much fun, good for your mental wellness, and is a wonderful way to connect with others if crafting in a group or online community.
I do hope you find some excellent ideas here for your crafting projects. It is my intention, that the crafts on this blog are to be used in all corners of the globe to lift your spirits!
Purpose
The purpose of Craft with Mei is to share craft projects with everyone as easy to follow, simple how-to’s and tutorials. You will find a full age range of crafts here from toddlers to adults and I enjoy to get involved with many different craft disciplines.
I like to post about what I am currently working on in life, such as crafts with my toddler and preschooler for our local toddler group, jewellery making for my Etsy shop or lantern making for a local event for example. From this real world experience, I will look to create a blog post that I think will be useful to you.
I welcome all ideas, so if there is anything in particular you would like me to make and publish, just send me a message on the Contact page and I will try my very best to do this for you.
I would love to guest feature anyone who does a craft so please contact me if this is something you are interested in doing.
A bit about me…
I live in the idyllic village of Kingsclere in the UK, with my partner and our two young boys of which I regularly test out my craft ideas on; lucky them fingers crossed! And a fluffy long haired cat too.
My crafty credentials include: A BA (Hons) in Fashion and Textiles of which I learnt sewing, print textiles, pattern cutting and design. I trained in evening classes to become a Silversmith and now have an Etsy shop where I make and sell jewellery. I regularly organise a craft activity at my local toddler playgroup as a volunteer. I also craft in general for myself, just for fun!
I am always pleasantly surprised by the variety and individuality of what people make. I believe you can have an idea of how you think a craft will turn out, but it can take on many different forms as you create your piece and end up with something totally different.
But that’s enough about me now.
I would love to hear about your results or any questions you may have, so please feel free to comment at the end of the blog post for that particular craft.
Thank you for reading and happy crafting! 🙂
